35 degees with a chance of chilli and coffee

Not gonna touch that women comment dg. No chili is complete without a couple onions browned in with the meat. A diced potato or two makes it a more complete meal, and I like to mix up the kinds of beans. Great Northern, pinto, red, all good. Wonder how many gallons of chili will be made because of this thread? count me in for a couple, just got the deer hamburger out to thaw.

1 lb of sausage
1 lb of ground deer or beef
4 table spoons of chili powder
2 table spoons of chipolte chili powder
4 cans of red beans
4 cans of crushed tomato's
2 cans of rotel
2 jalapeno's if you want to kick up the heat.

brown all of the meat in skillet, then mix everything together and simmer for a few hours. It makes A LOT of chili.

Throw a can of beer in there nanny and a little worchestire sauce and ya got somethin! :way:

my recipe is about the same, except i only use deer burger, and cut up an onion and green pepper and cook with the meat.

and a couple bags of fritos corn chips MUST be on hand!

You are all welcome.

TR, I couldn't agree more, bean variety is key.

I usually throw in a can of black beans and some bell peppers to go with the kydney beans...along with everything else. And I measure absolutely nothing. No batch ever comes out the same.

That sounds great, except I just use an entire shaker of chilli powder, measuring is lame. ;)

You can also get spicy hot red/chilli beans that give it more kick.

I'll let you try some of my chipolte chilli powder when you down next, and we'll see if you want me to throw the entire container full in there or not. ;)

Very rarely is my food calm enough that you do not have to have at least 3 beers after the first few bites to put the fire out.
