I have a heavy duty land pride brush hog I got a chance to get a good deal on a new 45 hp tractor is this enough hp for this 7 ft brush hog ?

I run a 6' on 40hp and it is fine, just going by that, I would think you should be good...but I would ask a dealer for sure.

You will bog down if you get into thick grass or weeds.
Might be able to downshift to a lower gear to minimize the bogging but it gets old sitting on a tractor that you could walk faster than... Jobs turn into hours. Wish I had a batwing and a bigger tractor, but that's not in the budget.

It'll lift it but that's a little big for that HP. 5-6 ft is what I recommend with 45HP and under. You'll want to keep the loader on.

I'm thinking about selling my 5 footer and going to a 7 footer now that I have a little bigger tractor but was worried about the same thing. I'd say let me know your thoughts on how your tractor handles it but that won't be for some time now.
