Well today was the opening day of trout season up here so i woke up nice and early and drove to my favorite hole. i spent almost the entire morning without a bite, i had walked over five miles tossing flies and not a bite. so than i finally changed flies from a nymph to a dryfly that an old timer had gave me before he passed away. and it was like i spen the rest of the day with him on that stream. i caught fish after fish, i caught 17 brook trout on an openin morning and kept three. to conclude a great day on my walk out of the woods i stumbled upon a great patch of wild leiks. with my three trout and vest stuffed with wild onions i left the wilderness one happy guy today. the best part was there was it was so peaceful that oldbuck prolly would have painted a picture of it

excellent shortfused! did you see any bucks with new growth on your long walk through the streams?

yes i saw what appeared to be a year and a half old buck with nubs just breaking. other than that i had a meal fit for a king last night brook trout wild onions and portabella mushrooms. slid it down with a six pack of fresh coors man was that tasty. split i havent been seeing many deer at all up here i dont know why either, the bears are out though. and the partridge are drumming like mad and the turkeys are struttin like crazy.
