Abnormal antler bounce back

I thought I would share some pics of the buck I harvested Halloween evening with some photos from prior years to show how he bounced back following injury. The top photo was him as a 3 year old in 2023, the spiked antler photo was in 2024 as a 4 year old, and the last trail cam pic is this year. I don’t know 100% but have fairly high confidence that a neighbor clipped him during gun season in 2023. I nearly shot him in 2024 as a cull but was curious to see what would happen to that antler if he lived another year so elected to pass. I was pleasantly surprised how well he bounced back this year. I thought this might be helpful for some of you guys to see if you have a deer with a jacked up side that previously was normal that there is hope for a recovery the next year!

Great choice and great buck!!! Congrats!!!
I’ve had similar experiences. Sometimes even 2 years of funky side & then goes back normal. Maybe 1/3rd the time they do stay that way. Well done!!!!!!
