Ammo and optics for a .223

I was wondering what kind of .223 ammo you guys were using on coyote and also a cheaper practice round. Any suggestions on a scope? Thanks!

I shoot either bear claw ammo (brass and lead, not steel) or Black hills ammo.

As far as a scope, go with what you like as far as how wide of a field of range you want or how much you want to be able to zoom.

I use silver bear ammo you can find on sportsmans guide. Pretty cheap on there but it was out of stock last I checked. shoots well for the price.

I shoot ultramax ammo, and I own alot of scopes but my favorite for coyotes is the bushnell banner 3x9x50. Don't let the 120 dollar price tag fool ya it is an excellent scope I own 3 of them.

I would personally purchase a Simmons Scope, you can snag a 4-14 x 44 for $89 from Natchez Shooting Supply or even a 6-21x44 if you wanted more power. I personally bought the 4-14 for my AR but use the 6-21 on my .204 and .243.

I don't understand why everyone shoots the 3x9 scope when they could a Simmons or any other higher powered scope. I know you wouldn't use the high end power when hunting but to get it dialed in on paper I would much rather be able to zoom in and see exactly what I am aiming at. Shooting tagets at long distances it sure helps me personally to crank that sucker clear up to 21power.
