Ammunition Plant

I'm not from that area but, do some hunting around Mt Pleasent and the buddy I hunt with and stay with go over Burlington a lot. He took me around it once in the evening and must of seen a 100 deer running around. I have talked to a lot of bowhunters who hunt it but, I think it's only employees only and they have got to hunt only one place on the ammunition ground asigneds to them and can't move out of it to hunt. As far as hunting the area around it it should be good hunting

Depends on exactly where you hunt. The 12 foot barbed wire fence doesn't help. If you hunt to close the fence, don't be surprised to find MP's from the National Guard under your tree. It is hard to kill a deer when you are getting harrassed. Hunting on the inside is closed down due to the terrorist attacks.

Hawkeye68, did you get an invitation to hunt this season in the mail recently? You had to hold a tag last season when it was closed. It really should be EXPLOSIVE deer hunting!

I used to trap turkeys for the DNR years ago, the size of bucks that are in that ammo plant are impressive, there is NOT ONE telephone pole in that plant that isn't rubbed to hell from bucks. The same with the road signs. They used to have a picture album at the front office of all the deer taken in the plant, I was told by my boss at the time that there were quite a few bruisers in there. If they re-opened it good luck to those of you who may be hunting in there.

Yep Scout I hear the hunting probably won't be very good this year at all down there. ;-)

G6

Things a little slow on the 4th G6? I got myself a new ride that will work great for the trip down! I'd like to pick up an inline if my truck payments don't kill me.
