That's not true it's mainly the same group that has hunted in since 9/11, is the story I got from the Biologist. The military use to have 1st priority and rightfully so. Now it's almost a private hunt club. That is suppose to change with a new Commander, I'm not counting on it. And after trying last year don't really care, you can find Big deer all over Iowa.
 
I have hunted in there since 1987 . And have had alot of fun.And as you can tell by my log on name that I always wasn't waiting for a big one.The hunting is just as tough inside maybe even tougher.But I will keep going because of the hunting and the good friends that I have made over the years. As for a Canned Hunt, no way.

[/ QUOTE ]Crap always changes with the new Commanders, it hasn't been too bad the last couple years. It's not a damn private hunt club like you say though, far from it, although I swear it costs me that much to drive there, pay for a room at a motel and eat out all season. Tell you what if you have a good piece of private ground with some big deer on it I'll gladly trade you my place in the plant for the chance to hunt yours.
 
Understand G6, I have 17year AFS and can relate to Change of Commands. I'm just passing on the info I received from calling the plant biologist and e-mailing the previous commander. Danno and SEMN wanted to get on also, I don't think they made it either.
