Another year to year look

Here is another buck that we saw many times last year and never thought about shooting him. My son is adamant that we not shoot him this year, and I agree, but I keep telling him that I am gunning for him just to rile him up. But take a look and share what you think about him in terms of age, score and most importantly in this case...his future potential. I think this one could really be a future stud and he is safe on our place for the time being.

This is a good side look at him late last fall.

His calling card is his straight and tall brows. Below is a post season look at him and somewhere along the line he broke off a time on his right side.

This is how he is shaping up this year, the tall brows are again evident.

But I am also seeing the start of some good mass on the beams this year.

I am hopeful that next year he will add more mass and tine length to match the brows.

Here's one last one to take a look at...a definite shooter in my book.

I'm gonna say he's still fairly young. 3.5 or 4.5. Looks like a good candidate for next year or the year after.

From last yrs photos I would guess he was 2 then and 3 now. And I agree on the mass, I would think he will turn into a solid buck in the next yr or two, but will never be a real high scoring deer. JMO

Could/should be a very nice buck next year. Hope he doesn't play in traffic (or in front of the neighbors). Shoot the woodchuck & use him for coyote bait. Win/Win! :drink2:

I'm going with the rest of the pack and saying around 3.5. He looks scrawny in last years photo and a more mature buck would be much larger looking especially since the rut was just winding down. Mass this year looks great and his future potential is definitely promising.
