Anybody been ice-fishing?

Finally got out ice-fishing today. Been too busy with kids swim meets and basketball tournaments. Had 6 inches of good ice. Fish bit like crazy. Caught loads of big bluegills and a few nice sized bass. Kept a mess for my family and some for the in-laws.

Hard to beat good day on the ice. Looks like after this week, entire state will have some what fishable ice. Headed to South Dakota end of the month. I’m ready to get the short rod’s and livescope out to play around.

We were doing pretty well on walleyes in Minnesota, usually 3-6 fish per day (average) . Nice eating size!

We got into a nice mess today! Haven’t had great ice seasons here the last couple years, what a way to start this year! Oldest boy (4) caught his very first solo fish through the ice, and got 4 total! Finished up with around 30, 12”avg too! Yummy!
