I wonder if the deer will eat this stuff? I thought it would have a tough time growing in Iowa but seems like if you can get it to work there are some good profit margins.

If only I had more time for hobby farming...

I've raised hops for home brewing for probably 15 years now, maybe longer. I would not want to do it on a "commercial" scale.

It seems pretty labor intensive. I have a number of buddies who do some home brewing and i have considered planting a couple plants.

There was a Dirty Jobs episode about growing Hops. I think on commercial scale they have everything fairly mechanized now.

The deer will be staggering around the farm drunk. Should make hunting a bit easier.
