Anyone used 6V battery rigs for their cameras?

Thinking of ways to extend my battery life in the field, so I don't have to replace them all the time, and just worry about switching the SD card. Just wondernig how many of you have these setups, and how much longer they last for you guys? Are they worth it, in your opinion? THANKS GUYS!

I actually use 12V batteries for my cameras, got them free from work. Got them rigged up, and last year each camera took over 13,000 pictures without needing charged. I loved it, and saved me a ton.

What camera are you using??

There is a property i hunt back home about 3 hours away i use a 12V i check it once every 3 month and just have the land owner check it once in a while to make sure its still good. I also use a 16gig just in case. I have it hooked up on a stealth view Sniper IR.

I guess the question I'm asking is, are you guys using a voltage regulator on your 12v rigs or are your cameras on 12v supply? My cameras are all 6v.

No, I am running Stealth Cams and Wildviews, bought them all on sale, and they are all 12 volts... I imagine 6 volts would be the same with a 6volt camera

I used to do it with my old Moultries. I bought a couple 6V, 8.2 ahr Werker sealed lead-acid batteries from Batteries plus. Drilled a hole in the bottom of the case of the camera and then ran a pair of wires out to a plastic ammo can that contained the battery. I would just set the battery at the base of the tree. Worked great, lasted forever. Only problem was squirrels loved to chew the wires. Havent tried it on a cuddeback yet but it should be easy enough, just have to make one jumper wire to complete the loop.
