Arrow Wraps

I have never used them before. How are they applied to the arrow and do most archery shops carry them. I plan on having all my arrows wrapped and blazer vanes put on them for Turkey season.

Most archery shops have a few of them, but I've had to look around to find ones that I've liked. I put them on by placing the wrap adhesive side up on a computer mouse pad. Then after lining the arrow up to make sure it is going to go on straight, just roll it across. Press down on the arrow as you roll it, and it will press into the pad. This helps to get the wrap to stick uniformly by keeping air from getting between the wrap and arrow.

I pretty much do the same thing as timekiller except I wipe my arrow off with hot water and clean cloth and allow it to dry. Then I make sure there's no residual dust or cloth material on the shaft. Then the wrap goes on and I'll wipe it off before I attach the Blazers, which also get a little cleaning.

Thank you guys for your comments. I plan on visiting Powderhorn archery this weekend and having them do this for me. I dont have a fletching jig or I would attempt it on my own.

I guess I am just an odd ball but I have known that for years. I cut my wraps in half and put them just ahead of my blazers (and behind my arrows Maxima emblem). This gives me the extra in flight visual tracking that the wraps are meant to accomplish. However, if for some reason the blazer gets damaged, I can just strip it off without damaging the wrap (or wrap is damaged without blazer damage). This does not look as cool as some arrow wraps but it works for me and let's me do some of my own arrow maintenance sometimes.

I wouldn't listen to Brent, he doesn't kill any big deer! Lol!!!! Seriously, that is a pretty good idea!
