Bannerstones don't always have holes drilled through them. I took a look at a few of my books and there is a really good illustration of a birdstone preform in here that has a close resemblence to what you've found. Do you have any more pics from different angles? </div></div>
You're right, they dont always have holes drilled through them, only about 95% of them do. The archaeologist ive talked to "assume" the ones that didnt get the holes drilled in them werent finished.
