I have to hand it to them. Looks like the best climbing stick out there now... Here is a link to Midwest whitetail and the muddy feature is towards the end. I will definitely be getting a set or two of these. No more clanking buckles!

I just bought Lone Wolf sticks. Kinda wish I would have waited now. I like the climbing rope attachment system. Great idea.

I'll wait to make sure the cam lock system that holds the climbing rope doesn't fail. I can see that slipping a little bit down the road. But, I agree that if it does hold up, these are the cat's meow!

I saw that too and am in the market for climbing sticks but they aren't listed on the website yet... anybody know what they cost?

Retail will be $129.00 and they will be available in June!!!

I will definitely have to get my hands on these. Love the rope/cam system and the side by side steps. I wonder how high you get with a four set. Kinda sucks there's only two steps per stick too. For me it will be up to weight and whether or not I can get to 20 ft with 4 sticks. I will have to give them a call here soon.

I think it is 20 inches? WKP-Todd or Muddyoutdoors can hopefully answer this question. I can't wait to get a set. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Don't mean to detract from the thread but I noticed they also showcased the harness in the MW clip. I know there were some tweaks planned for it but they didn't mention anything. If Muddy et al responds to the above, would you also let us know when the new harnesses might be available? Thanks.

Can't wait to see the specs, length/weight etc... wonder if there will be a 3 step version available at some point.

I was very close to ordering the LW sticks which are 32" and from what I've heard you need 4 to get up to a decent height. Wondering if I'll need 5 Muddy's to get that high?

Guys,

We are in the process of changing our web site to include the 09 products. It will still be a few weeks. We need to get through the dealer shows first.

The sticks are 20" long. Testing proved that this shorter version was much safer. The longer sticks tend to pull away from the tree when you grab the bottom step. We decided to only offer the 20" length.

The 09 harness functions much like the 08 version. Just some small changes. All 09 stuff will be available this summer.

Thanks for the interest.

How high should you be able to get with a set of four? or five?

I will get back on here soon and give you guys some information. Busy today with editing the new video - but I will be back in the next couple days with some of the specifications you guys want to hear / learn about.

Thanks for the interest.

Ok guys, here are the specs - Total Stick Length is 20 in. - step distance is 18". Each stick weighs 2.5 lbs. - 4 pack weighs 10 lbs. They will be rated to 300 pound weight limit.

4 sticks will get you anywhere from 16-18 ft. depending on how much you space them between.

5 sticks will get you from 18-20 ft. - again - depending on how much you space them.

The sticks are designed to eliminate the metal buckle by using a patent pending rope cam system. Once the rope is placed between the cams and loaded with weight - the cams bite on the rope and it is very strong. A simple wrap of the rope eliminates the possibility of kicking or having the rope pull from the cams - which is impossible if the rope is wrapped / tied in the way that will be instructed. The rope is a USA made climbing grade rope that actually has a 3,800 pound break strength. The rope is top quality to prevent any wear or strength issues in the field for many years. They are replaceable if need be.

As well as the patent pending rope cam system, the Muddy sticks also feature a patent pending geared step mechanism that allows the hunter to fold both sides of the steps both down and up at the same time - with only a single hand. The design also ties the actual strength of the steps together - which means it's stronger than a single bolt design.

Another pretty neat feature of the Muddy sticks is a small loop that is extruded into the V-brackets of the steps. We will have a "stick holster" part - basically a small "peg" that will be mounted to the Muddy harness on both sides of the waist belt. This will allow the hunter to climb the tree with two sticks attached to the harness - which means you can set two sticks from the ground, carry one, carry two on your waist - throw a stand on your back - and only climb the tree once! We will also be able to use this loop to give our stick systems two methods for packing on the Muddy stands. One will be the common stack off the stand, the other will allow us to lay the stick pack on it's side. This will make the pack size smaller than our competition.

The Muddy sticks will pack with both Muddy and the other guys stands. The sticks will actually pack with any stand that has a 1-1/4" tube.

Futher information will be available on the Muddy website as the product becomes available - which will be roughly around the July timeframe.

They will retail for $129.99 for 4 sticks. Indivdual sticks will also be available.

Thanks for the interest guys.

How big of tree will the muddy sticks go onto with the standard rope it comes with?

Got me curious, one of the minor things that bugs me with the LW sticks are that when you grab that lower step to pull yourself up they sometimes come off the tree a little bit.

Any way to get pics of the sticks up close yet? I'd like to see that cam lock and how the lower steps fold out. Yes, I did check the Midwest Whitetail footage out, they look pretty sweet.
