Sponsorship means... that by being part of the site you are advertising for, Just guessing by your last name and the name of the website, that most don't pimp themselves or their business on here. Contact the Administrators and set up a sponsorship... you get a banner on the website amongst .... well some of us may actually visit your site then..... Just my $.02
 
Yeah, that was kinda shameless. It would be nice if you would choose to contribute to the site, instead of just selling your goods.
 
It is not my business I am advertising for, but they are related to me. How do they get a hold of the administrators to set up a sponsorship? They might be interested.
 
I totally understand that this site doesn't want to become one big advertisement but I am getting concerned about some of the hostility that people have shown to some good people on here. The poster of this thread is obviously new to this site and it is clear that someone needed to inform him how things work around here but they clearly could be communicated to him in a more friendly way. When something happens on this site that doesn't sit well with people I think we all need to sit back and think before we just go out and post negative attacks on people. This brings me back to when OneCam was selling his land. Some people were quick to jump on him for advertising his property on his own website. I kept my mouth shut then but now that I am talking I will say that it was BS for people to critisize him the way they did. It's clear that this site has developed into its own "little cult" and I would like to think that I am apart of this. But when people from the outside or someone with different views try to become apart of this group it has become evident that some members are not here with arms wide open. This brings me to the non-resident issue. Again, I love the state of Iowa. I went to school there and probably have more friends in this great state then my own home state. I understand why Iowa is the hunting mecca that it is today and I believe that the members of this site should fight to keep things the way they are. If you want to hunt in Iowa with a gaurantee then you should have to be a resident. What a great rule. But I think many of us have read and taken part in this fight to keep things the way they are and somehow turned this into an us verse them concept. I believe that this concept has been showing up on this website over the last year and I am just concerned that a lot of people that might of had a great story to tell or an awesome trail cam picture to share have been turned away. This is what were really all here for....the stories, pictures, and even the friendships. Lets not loose sight of what this sight is and how it got here. I know I just went of on a tangent but I had a few things on my mind.
 
in the world of internet forums, it is EXTREMELY rude, and in poor taste to use your first post, to sell a product, or pimp another site. now, a longstanding member, who happened upon something, or had something to sell and shared it with the group is different. if the only reason you joined the sight was to make a sale, i believe that is what the classifieds are for
 
If you look you can see that i have been a member for nearly five months. So obviously i did not join to advertise a product. The product is not even mine it is actually my grandfathers business and i am his 18 year old grandson. He wanted to get his name out on the web because his business is starting to go out of business from the decline in the economy. I am not asking you to buy the product i just was putting his name out for him because he asked me to. I joined IW because it is the best site on the web when it comes to hunting, and my favorite thing to do is bowhunt whitetails. I have never put a post on IW before, I usually just read everything on here. I dont really appreciate the [censored] I have had to here from posting that link. If you want to check it out go right ahead, and if you dont that is your choice.
 
Clipper, let me back up to my comment earlier. I usually bite my tongue when I have opinions, so I do apologize for coming across so harsh. I don't appreciate jerks, and I would like to avoid becoming one. Now, I do still feel that the primary purpose of this site is hunting. And, it did look like pretty blatant advertising. I really don't have a problem with you mentioning the site. I just think it's better to establish yourself here first. Again, I apologize for how the first message came across. Please feel free to jump in on topics, and to share your hunting stories and knowledge. That's what makes this site fun to visit.

Those t-shirts look like something you would see at a truck stop. If the business is having problems it may be the product.
 
Yeah, I'm not into that stuff either. Reminds me of those velvet wildlife paintings, just...plain....cheesy.... JMHO...
