AZ Muley Governor's Tag Buck

AZHunter

Iowa Boy At Heart
You always hear me talking about the world class mule deer we have here in AZ. Here is a picture of the buck taken by the holder of the Governor's Tag. I'm not getting into the good vs. bad debate about Governor's Tags, just showcasing a MONSTER muley taken recently. I don't know what hunt unit specifically (I'm sure it will leak eventually), but based on the sheer size and habitat in the background, this had to come from the Arizona Strip (all areas north of the Grand Canyon). Buck of dreams right there! :way:

Good lord! That is a stud mulie! Always amazed what those guys from Mossback put down. They must have some phenomenal properties that are extremely well managed. Congrats to the hunter! Wonder what he does for a living?

100% public land on the Arizona Strip. Its a combination of BLM and Forest Service land up there. There are no privately managed big game hunting properties in Arizona other than the Reservations.

Monster mule deer. I wonder how big that thing is?
I heard of a 287 net muley going down here already, it's a very believeable rumor, pretty sure it isn't rumor actually.

That one was 285 5/8 and I've heard of another being taken during the limited archery season up there (AZ Strip) that was 287. There's a good reason I'm holding out for an AZ Strip tag! :way:
