Spent last week hunting deer in the hot Wyoming weather. My dad and I both ended up tagging out this year. He got his early in the week and I took it down to the wire and tagged out Friday morning.
We had quite an eventful week. It was close to 90 everyday so bucks were moving after dark in the evenings but they were out and about in the cooler morning weather.
I ended up shooting a whitetail out of the same tree my dad shot his mule deer. That tree is now labeled "The Producer" as we saw a ton of bucks out of it. Most of them mulies but on the morning I shot mine, it was mainly whitetail.
The morning my dad shot his, he also locked the keys in the truck. We found out that it takes GM Roadside Assistance about 4 hours to get someone to find us in Wyoming to unlock the doors! I also got to do a 1 man, 3 calf, few mile cattle drive while we were waiting...that was an experience! Figured I'd volunteer since the rancher has let us bowhunt out there for quite a few years.
Here's a few pics of our bucks. Due to the whole key situation, we don't have a pic of my dad with his deer. Cams were locked in the truck, and I was waiting at the ranch house for a callback from GM while he borrowed the ranchers truck and went to get his deer before the heat got it. Cell pic is the best he could do....that sucks.
