We have always wanted bees at our place but not really into doing the maintenence etc... I was contacted by a local honey company and they asked back in January if they coudl bring bee boxes out in the spring. Around May10th, they showed up from Texas on a semi. They winted the bees down there and bring them up to MN in the spring. he said he has about 2800 hives between New Ulm, over to Rochester and up to St Cloud. The semi has a specialized forklift on the bwck that they use to offload. There's 4 hives per pallet and we have 4 pallets. They have been fun to watch. We do sunflowers every year and this year we went to a full acre of sunflowers right by the bees, in addition to a n acre ro so of clover. Its crazy how the # of bees has grown. Fun to watch them in the clover.
