Bad Genetics!

sureshot

The Hunt Never Ends....
Got pictures of this big 6 point a few days ago. Hopefully he doesn't spread too many of his genes around. I saw him once last year during muzzleloader season and was contemplating shooting him but I was waiting for a big 12 that I had seen the evening before. There is no doubt in my mind that he's a mature buck, but he'll get another pass this year even though he is pretty unique!

That buck is very unique, you just don’t see 6 pointers with that large of a body or rack often. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif

I passed a huge 6 point in 1992, and I have been kicking my butt since for doing so.

No kiddin'! I have a feeling he's "spreading" his genes around plenty... /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Interesting. By the size of the body you almost wonder if he didn't pass prime years ago and is really old. If it is simple genetics he's begging to be a management buck. Great deal for a young'n during youth season though.

Get him outta there NOT ONLY because of the genes BUT rather so another mature buck comes in and takes his place. He might be running several other "larger racked" bucks outta there just cause he's so big and mature- an area can handle few fully mature and territorial monsters. Get rid of him!

Looks very mature!

I would love to shoot him. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

I found a dead 6 while shed hunitng last yr scored just under 130". Definately an OLD buck, not necessarily genetics.
