BALL AND CHAIN

I have to say that my wife is a Gem! before we married she knew I was a hunting nut, but she didn't know the full extent of it for awhile..., then we moved up north and all hell broke loose!

so I could go.Last fall I hunted for 6 weeks strait. I was home 3 days during that time. All the while she was a full time nursing student taking care of our 2 children.

She knows that for 5 months of the year I'm pretty wrapped up (2 for hunting and 3 for shed hunting), so she don't bother with me to much.

Them other 7 months though I get hit pretty hard with the "honey-do" list. I don't mind at all as the trade off works out pretty good.

My wife is a 100 pound vegetarian that can grind burger and wrap steaks with the best of them. She also knows a 160 from a 140. Gets a little stressful by the end of the rut each year but we work through it. Two boys under 5 make things even more interesting. Mom knows in 6-8 years there wont be anybody around during the rut so I think she is enjoying her time with the boys when she can. Real love wouldn't cage a wild animal, and that is what staying home doing chores or social requirements would be during the rut! Leaves falling from the trees and momma has got you out raking them? no way. Good women rock, and I have got one!

My wife and I purchased a Jennings Rackmaster last Thursday night. (Wouldn't let me buy her a Mathews Mustang...$$$) She hasn't put it down since. Aleady hitting the bullseye more often than not. She said next year she'll be in a stand too. What a woman!

I have a good one at home too. Two boys 6 and 3 but I try to involve them in my scouting and sometimes hunting when I can. My wife just completed her Hunters Safety Course this year and is going to try for her first deer during the 1st shotgun season. I have a feeling we'll be fighting over stands and who's going to watch the boys when she get hooked!

I think that your wife is crazy!!! If only you could get her into the hunting scene then she would see just what you are craving!! My husband and I spend time trying to figure out who's more addicted to hunting! Hope She comes around.
