basement project

That is too cool, did you have to restain the edges of the boards when you would have to cut to size for the wall?? Or did it hide pretty well! Definitely gunna think about this for myself!!

I cut all the wood before staining. I have the same thickness of board going horizontally all the way around the walls in each row . Just different width of rows vertically. Makes it much easier to put up with it fitting well. With the different width in each row and multiple colors it makes it look like they are different. And yes- I stained all sides and ends except the side that went against the wall. And don't use a brush to apply the stain- use old rags or cut up t shirts. Makes it a TON easier and looks better

You using smaller trim type screws to attach the boards to the wall or something else? I like this idea... might borrow it from you!

Thin finishing nails and used a nail gun. I just bought a stud finder- marked all the studs with a pencil from ceiling to floor and nailed them into a stud at every spot they went over a stud

Seriously an awesome idea. I have actually told my wife we will be doing this. Showed it to her this morning. When I do mine, I'm going to just put a muddy bow hanger straight into the wall by my mounts to hand my bow off of in the off season. Thanks for the ideas!! Definitely want to see finished product!

Those will actually have laser cut metal pieces over them. It will be a few weeks before it's fully finished but I'll update with pics. Anyone need help with something similar just message me

I have been getting messages asking for updates on the basement- so i figured since I installed the window slide shutter yesterday- I will update-

still a long way to go til its done- but should be fully finished in the next few weeks minus the muskie mount that I wont get until labor day

here you go!

I also found some old steel Harrow disks while shed hunting- there was HUNDREDS of them so I grabbed a few to hang on the wall. Looks pretty nice against the wood.
