But unlike a big buck, you know where the bear is going to end up. They are coming to your bait. Yes it may be dark when they're coming in, but you have a little bit of an edge because you can lure them in. I have spent many months trying to figure out where to ambush selected bucks only to have their patterns change. I still love bar hunting though!!

I was up in MN with some friends who drew tags, but most of the bears were coming to the bait at 2:30 - 3:00 A.M. Three out of five guys shot bears though. I thought a 150lb bear was small, but after seeing some in person I think that would be big enough for me for a first bear. It was a neat experience. Maybe next year.
