best extenda saw?

I gotta drop a vote for the Wicked saw as well. I'm not sure where people are getting it doesn't cut as fast because both my hand saw and my 15 foot pole saw work just great for me. I've only had a chance to use the pole saw a few times and it's worked WAY better than the Fiskers and Hooeyman pole saws I used to own. I buzzed thru a 8 inch branch in about 5 minutes a few days ago and then used it as a baseball bat/club to clear switch grass and multiflower rose for a trail camera set up then I used the blade to dig out a mock scrape. Pruners on saws are really nice... until that dang rope gets tangled up in everything.

That's my vote, take it as you will.

That is true.

Do not get me wrong, pruners are awesome when they work, but the thing I found out about them was that I'd more often than not get the pruners stuck on the branch if it didn't cut clean and got it jammed in between the blades... getting that unjammed was a witch. Trying to use the pruners in the stand was a pain. Dropping the rope and having it swing down was one thing. You'd have to bring the blade back to you just to get ahold of the rope then re extend everything. Now if the rope swung down and wrapped around something you'd have to hang the saw or drop it and then climb down to loosen the pruner rope back up... then start all over again. Rolling the rope up around the saw just took forever and then to keep it tight and not have the handle knock against the pruner pole itself was so minor, but just ANNOYING.

I'm very happy with the Wicked Saw, but there are some other great suggestions in here as well. If you buy quality you can't hardly go wrong.

Just don't get a Fiskars or Hooeyman pole saw. Fiskars are dull and Hooeymans just suck.

Maybe the next wicked pole saw design could have a no bulls*#t pruner on it. Hint hint. I really want a wicked, but I love my pruner too much. Guess I'll wait it out for a while.

I don't get you pruner guys. You can rip anything down with a blade that you can with a pruner plus not pinch your damn fingers in the process.

You can say what you want but the Wicked products flat out do what they were designed to do.

Guys that know me know I hate junk and I'm here to tell you Fiskars and hooeyman are junk when it comes to pole saws and hand saws. I can not comment on the other brands as I have never used them.

Have not tried the wicked but it would have to be amazing to compare with a silky. Watch what people who use them every day use that is how I chose silky. Also the sharp hook top and bottom will do the job of a pruner. Not sure how the wicked is priced but the 21 foot silky is around 300 and to replace the blade is about 75

What is that little hook/blade for the Silky, how does work and what does it do? I am assuming folks are saying it takes the place of a pruner? If so, how large a diameter can it cut and does it cut as fast and easy as the pruner?

I am not sure how it is intended but anything smaller than dime sized in diameter just hook and pull or push depending on top of bottom at an angle to the branch it will slice it right off. Works great on ones that the saw grabs and shakes instead of cutting.
