Dont play football for a living. It sure takes away from your hunting opportunities. I still haven't figured out a good way to ask for a week off during the rut!

If I had to choose again I would be a union sheetmetal worker. aj has worked about 3 weeks in the last year. That leaves alot of time to hunt
Got to do what you got to do. I actually don't get that much time, I stay home with my boy all day(1). And bothe of my parents work so there is no easy babysitter. I only got to shotgun hunt 1 day last year cause my wife was working.
I'm just lucky my job can be that flexible. I've just worked enough to keep my health insurance up. We thought it would be nice for one of us to stay home for the first year so he didn't have to go straight to the babysitter. I'll be back full time shortly. Before bow season.
I strongly recomend looking into being a firefighter. Get a associates degree with your Proffesional firefighters card and a Paramedic license. Time off is great, its a very honerable proffesion and the pay aint bad. My friends envy the time and freedom I have. Takes a certain kind of person though, firehouse life can be tuff, you thick skin and be able to handle wierd and gross stuff. But to get the job done and be good at it you just need good common sence. www.lancasterfirefighters.com
You know I have really grown to hate it when Muddy talks about his job or posts pictures! (No offense Muddy) I just think it sounds/looks like it would be such a COOL job! I get EXTREMLY jelous when you talk about what you do and/or post pictures!
I've made some pretty decent doe doing building maintenance for a number of years. The only draw back is you tend to have a lot of bosses (or people who think they are your boss) and/or having to go in really late at night when the air conditioning goes down. Then I call Central Iowa in the next day to fix it for me...
