Best Jobs

A job that you've been doing for 35 years & have 6 weeks paid vacation, covers the archery season pretty well /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

The Best job Is in seed sales because i can sit here and read what you guys talk about and talk to you guys on the phone and talk about hunting fishing and women all day long and get paid to do it. I also get to watch the deer and go to Pheasant fest get paid for it and talk to all the vendors This is the best job I would not be able to do it with out you guys though Thank you

I think a grain farmer would be pretty good. Nothing like patterning a buck from the tractor /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif </div></div>

The two busiest times for a grain farmer are spring and fall. Grain farmers are planting crops during spring turkey and harvesting the crops during the rut. At least that was my experience, trying to farm around a day job. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

I guess you could wish for rainy weather so you could sit in your treestand. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif But when it's time to plant/harvest, you plant/harvest!</div></div>

I know what ya mean about trying to farm around a day job. My dad did that for 2 years before grandpa sold the farm. Not much time for anything between hogs, cattle & corn. But when farming was dads day job & life for 20 years, he could tell ya when & where the deer were. Also if farming is your day job you are your own boss & make time to hunt around your own schedule (if you own your own farm). /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

funny, I was just reading back through this post and was thinking how good I had it at my job...

I had 23 days vacation built up so far this year, most of which I was planning on spending in a tree.

But, on Tuesday I found out that as of the end of August I will be out of a job. There goes my season!

Sorry to hear about the layoff /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Maybe now is a good time to go for full-time as a wildlife artist? There are some great paintings on your site /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

i guess i have to add my two cents to this thread and give a thumb up for being a cop. ive been one now for going on 16 years and it enables me to build up alot of comp time which i can take off whenever able and also have some good vacation days...down sides im sure you all hear about but you get used to them..working weekends doesnt bother me anymore as that means i can hunt during the week when everyone else is gone...as of today i think i have about 29 days to use and i start mid october and go to the end of november...God has blessed me immensly with this job...
