Best way to catch a poacher?

This weekend I saw the biggest buck I've seen so far this year. I'm pretty sure just about anyone would take a whack at this deer, and that's what I'm affraid of. Here's the problem, he is living in a 15 acre city park about 1/2 mile from where I live and I have a bad feeling that someone is going to poach him this fall. Any suggestions on detering someone from trying to take a whack at him or catching them if they do shoot him? I don't dare put up a trail cam in a city park. I just wish I could get a good pick of this deer in case anyone tries to claim him as a legally harvested deer.

Is this park pretty secluded and no one lives around it. When I used to hunt near a city park I had the city cops called on me several times. I was hunting on private ground but had to walk along the park boundry and people thought I was hunting in the park. Most people will stay pretty observant with strange vehicles around a park at that time of day or night.

Inform the cops and the dnr, if they don't already know of him.

I use to work in Marion. Well one day driving past Squaw Creek, we seen a massive deer. Wasn't sure if it was a buck but it dwarfed the deer it was with. So we turned around and pulled over to take a gander, yup big buck. We weren't there 20 seconds and a dnr flew up befind us. He said they knew of him and kept a close eye on him to ensure no one took him illegally.

I would say almost everyone would like to take a whack at the deer but very few would do it illegally. At least that's how I read the sentence. I know those are just words but Anti's visit these sites and they already think hunters are a bunch of low life murderer's.

As far as the deer goes. Is the park a hunting area? If it is he won't be there after getting hunted a few times. If it's no hunting, that might be his little safe spot. Or, just cause you see him there now doesn't mean he'll be there in 5 weeks.

I went back last night to see if I could catch a glimpse of him again. He was in a green field right off the road with 5 other bucks. He by far dwarfed all the others. I initially thought he was a big 10 and was shedding his velvet, but upon a closer look with my camera, he is a big 10 with a drop on his right beam. I snapped a few pics with my 35mm. They are siloettes from the streetlights and neighboring businesses, but I think they will come out fine.
The deer resides right next to an urban hunting area for antlerless only. The particular section I have seen him in is not part of the hunting zone.
