Hello all,

I am an active member of 2 different hunting forums from Alaska. Today a member on there from Illinois posted a story about a big horn sheep hunt he just went on in Wyoming that he was one of 4 people to be drawn for. He had a successful hunt and harvested a bighorn sheep. On his drive home, he stopped at a hotel in a small town in Iowa to spend the night. He briefly talked with the desk guy that he was returning from a hunt. The next morning, he woke up to find that the back of his pickup was broken into. The thief broke his topper lock right off and stole all of his gear, coolers with meat and fish, and his bighorn cape and horns.

I have posted a message for him to let me know what town he stopped in. Iowa is a small place, and with as many people on this forum from all over the state, somebody might just overhear somebody talking about this. If any of you hear anything, please report it so this hunter can get his trophy back. It might be a long shot, but it's worth a try. Thanks.

People that do things like this need to be put in front of a firing range.

Check with Chuck Adams, he is looking for a big horn sheep cape. Just kidding, he asked that jokingly at our Banquet this past spring. We stopped at Cabelas in SD last month. I was very leary about leaving a trailor full of 5 guys equipment just sitting out there. I know down in TX they have a real bad problem with people stealing from trailors in the Cabelas parking lots. Sad, pathetic world. Chit Bags

Wow, that is pretty low! Not much better than grave robbing. Be sure to let us know what town it was.

There is a certain percentage of the population that really serve no purpose on earth except to steal oxegen from useful folks.
 
The town where this happened is still unknown. They guy who posted the original message hasn't written me back yet. Not sure why.
