Big nine

That is one awesome buck!
I too am curious about the story of how this beautiful buck was taken.

Wait a minute, gentlemen.

1) We've heard 1 side of this story.

2) It's been stated that the deer was taken legally.

In what code of ethics is it stated that any large buck is required to be shouldermounted?

While many of the posers on this site would do one thing, many more would do others. The guy that shot this deer might be a little out there in his thinking of the value of the rack, but he's done no wrongs that we know of and shouldn't be crucified here. He's got a great trophy that taken within the limits of the law.

I can empathise with the original poster and his buddy...I'd be bummed too if I'd hunted that thing and not been the one to take him.

It's a beautiful rack.

Just to calm things down a little, I want to say that I am not saying that every big deer HAS to be mounted because it is expensive and some people just dont care to have the mounts. That is o.k. I am not however going to tell the whole story because I do not want to open a whole can of worms and start a bunch of debates about shotguns versus bows or luck versus research or a social class argument, but I will tell that the guy that killed does not appreciate what he has, and is looking at it as a meal ticket. That is about all I will say.
