First of all, great buck and pic, hopefully you get him next year and put that pic under your mount! :way:

Sask...that timber view would be pretty common here in Iowa, I would judge that amount of understory as average. Thanks to Dbltree and others, many are "thickening" their timbers nowadays and the results are pretty noticeable in terms of deer, bucks especially, favoring thicker timbers.

But there are still A LOT of timbers that look pretty much like that FWIW.

BTW...does anyone else see any other deer in that pic?
