Binocular Suggestions?

This depends on how much time you spend in the woods and of course your cash situation, but i am with rembrant...i bought the swarovski 10x42 el 's last year b4 i went to alaska and it was the best 1400$ i ever spent. Like old buck said you use them every time you hunt and for me just about every time i get in my vehicle. I was smart and bought them b4 i got married and figure they will be a lifelong investment that i can pass on to my kids someday

Check out the Leica 8-12x42 you can not go wrong with Lieca equipment. Adjustable power is priceless when in the stand. I own Swavorski 8x30's and really like them but if I had it to do all over again the adjustable powered Liecas would be my choice. Good Luck and look in Cabelas bargain cave thier are some good deals on optics in there.
 
ZEISS and you CAN have the best for less! Look at this sierratradingpost.com/product.asp?base_no=67944 They were 280 last week! Mine shipped yesterday. I called and got the 235 price adjustment.

Saving for a pair of Swarovski's, have had many cheaper sets over the years, they have all gone to the big eyestrain in the sky. A little tip, if you are going to save for your bino's over an extended period of time, ask for gift certificates to the store of your planned purchase. I've done this over the past several years and have little over $900 in certificate's saved. Your family/friends will love you also for the ease in providing you with a gift!

Swarovski. If you want to know who makes the best glass, ask birdwatchers. They are more sensitive about glass than we are about scent! I bought some 10x42 sels and regret not buying them sooner. They don't have quite the eye relief, as say Zeiss, for eyeglass wearing folks. But the cups turn in so you get some. Unique way of keeping the lens covers attached...and from getting lost. Unbelievable clarity....and yoour eyes will thank you for it. Lifetime warranty. What more could you want? The light gathering at dusk really makes em worth the price.
 
If money is an issue, i bought a pair of Leupold 10x50's @ Cabela's for about $360. They are the best pair i have ever used and significantly less money than Swarvoskis.
 
i looked through dozens of binocs before i bought them. muddy is right, take them outside to try. even better take them outside at dusk. i found that the Sheels brand of 8x42 are a great buy. they are a knock off of the swarovski but at half the cost. the scheels 8x42 are 500.00 vs 1,000. i could not tell the difference. the scheels brand are lifetime no questions ask guarantee. scheels is in Iowa City and Des Moines. good luck
 
Everyone has suggested good glass. Although not on the cheap end the best set of glass on the market is the Nikon lx venturer. It has the latest technology in the coating of lenses to the glass. When you start to talk clarity and light gathering who better to know than a company that built its company around making cameras. Some of their mid range binoculars such as the Monarch's are better quality than some of the other top end glass that has been mentioned. If you read up on them you will find that Nikon is being rated as making some of the best binoculars and scopes on the market today. They also have a lifetime warranty. Just another opinion for you to consider.

Canon makes the best glass for camera lenses. Look at all the 'white' lenses on the sidelines of games, etc. And for wildlife photog., there is none better than canon. Swarovski's sel's are as good as you can get. I use mine for birding mostly....so I need something that is easier on the eyes....and excellent clarity. I love mine. And if a consumer has a question about binocs, there are numerous reviews on the net as to what is a good set.
