it's a weird coincidence that i just thought up. last year on my birthday i took my best bow bird to date at 27 pounds and with some pretty respectible spurs and beard. it was on the 4th hunt of last spring in the afternoon and on public ground. tomorrow morning will be my 3rd hunt and tomorrow night will be my 4th hunt and i am going to try and repeat in the same public ground i took last years bird at. the whole 3rd and 4th hunt on my birthday again this year is pretty weird, but whatcha gunna do?

scouting tonite revealed heavy bird activity and they are still using the same travel cooridoors. who knows, maybe i'll repeat!! had to do some looking but found the birthday story from last year on page 10 in the longbeard conferece,

intermission....

birds lots...muddy and deadeye...zero

if it hadn't been for a stick and some bad luck i would've repeated this morning...still have this afternoon though. after the arrow deflection i did manage to harvest a large tree of some sort, pliers and patience will be required to retrieve the lucky broadhead.
