Bow for my 8 year olds

I need some help on what kind a bow to get my 8 year old boys. I want something small enought that they can draw back but powerful enought that they can use it deer hunting with me. Any suggestions? They are fairly small for their age so maybe I just need to wait a few more years.

i would say, get a genesis bow,and teach them to shoot. get them a hunting bow when they are a little older. i wouldn't think an 8 year old is going to have the strength to pull back a bow with enough power to cleanly kill a deer, for a couple years

do you have a link to the genesis bows?

nevermind, I found it.

I don't know how much they can pull back yet, but I know that the Parker Challenger II is a good beginner bow. They make them with all sorts of draw weights (starts at 20 and goes to 50 in increments of 10) and Draw lengths (starting at 23" going to 27") . For $50 bucks you can update the limbs , cams, etc when they are ready to upgrade. For those of looking for record book status they also have draw modules in 65% and 80% let off. Around here they are about $299 or so. Website says $379.00 website:www.parkerbows.com I have used one for 5 years now 40-50 lb draw weight and have killed 4 deer with it. It is also extremely light weight 2.6 lbs so it is easy to hold up for long periods of time.

Let us know your choice!!

If you are thinking about the Genesis, hold off till the '07 bows come out. Mathews is coming out with a new kids bow that might peak your interest

Recently bought my boy a Tom Thumb II made by stacey archery and couldn't be happier with it. Couldn't decide between this bow and the genessis but am happy I went with this one. Both are good bows for the money and you would be happy with a genisses too.

Thank you everyone for the comments. I didn't realize there were so many choices out there. I like the parker option for the fact that you can upgrade it to a stronger bow for hunting when they get a little older. Do you think if I take them into one of the stores, they will find out if they can draw back 20lbs?
