Will broadcasting oats on slope germinate just like rye grows on top of ground? Wondering if oats need to be covered or would they germinate on top of dirt and clay?
Oats need to stay moist for longer than rye does. You can get some germination if it's wet enough but you'll likely need to cover them for good results. Will broadcasting oats on slope germinate just like rye grows on top of ground? and create thatch
Will the rye effect switchgrass? I know they say don't plant rye in an area you plan to plant corn the next season due to its toxicity. I love rye for fighting weeds for that toxicity reason.Ditch the oats and plant Rye instead. 3x the thatch amount easy
