I gonna go out on a limb and say the Oct lull is still with us since hardly any deer have been posted here. I know I've logged quite a few hours in the stands the last 4 days and havn't seen hardly anything. Very little movement. I hope that's the case anyway..............

I feel you there. I hunted hard Sat. and Sun. and only saw one buck in over 13 hours in the stand. Hopefully this lull will change soon, seeing lots of new sign such as rubs and scrapes but nothing moving during the day light. Bring on the colder weather.

All the good bucks on cam last week were around 8 - 10 pm. Glassed a few spots last night and does and little bucks were moving pretty well, but no big boys. One of the landowners told me they jumped a stud while combining yesterday, so maybe once the rest of the crops are out you guys will start to see a bit more daylight action in the woods. Good luck

Been seeing some good action with does and smaller bucks, light sparing/running scrapes and beginning to chase unwillling does. Can get my bino's on a good bedding area where the last couple days have seen the mature boys up but sticking close to the bedding area till after dark. Don't have any trail cameras out to check actual times they move through. The mature bucks seem to be paying attention to the young bucks getting after their does, as I watched a couple mature bucks staring at the action the young bucks are supplying. With the weather getting cooler I don't think it will be long before the big boys begin to wander in our shooting hours/lanes..

that's kind of funny, you know it's a lull and you're still going to the tree? I've seen just as much activity as you have the last 4 days, from my couch:D

Actually, the wife and I took a drive two nights ago and counted 25 deer, only two bucks. They were moving out to picked corn at dusk and pretty steady too boot...I'm sure the bucks followed an hour behind (as normal), especially given the moon phase

I hunted quite a bit both Saturday and Sunday and could've killed plenty of does, but the bucks are hanging back till after dark. Their time is coming :D

Gosh, I think they are moving pretty well in n.e. Iowa, where ya hanging your hat now days moose? Get to the wooded ponds they are thirsty. These two watered at 22 yards this afternoon while I watched em. To bad H20 didn't add 10- 20 inches to each. ....
I may have ventilated one of em. These are night photos I know, archives, didn't pull card from this afternoon, backed out undetected around 7, but they worked my mock over pretty well...

Hang in there boys the fun is just beginning. Maybe my 16 year old son can get a crack at these two 150-160 bucks.......I'm trying to hold out for a bit bigger. Shoot all the 150's , you'll never get the BOONERS...

GO TO WATER...
