Well.. I had a 3 day pass this weekend, so, I went on a trip to Cairo to check out the Pyramids of Giza... Saw some cool stuff and saw a lot of not-so-cool stuff.. Makes me really appreciate living in Iowa where people actually care about the environment. Cairo is a city of over 18 million people. It was always blue-bird skies, but I could never see very far because of the dense smog.
THE COOL STUFF:
Climbing out of a tomb.. I guestimated it at about 20m deep or more.. it was very hot and humid in there.
Sitting on the largest of the 3 main Pyramids of Giza.
NASTY STUFF:
The first pic is a herd of goats in downtown Cairo eating garbage and you can't see very far because of dense smog...it was a sunny day. The second pic is just a bunch of garbage in the median in the middle of a street next to a dumpster. It pretty much looked like that down most of the streets. To top it all off, dysentary has set in /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
I wouldn't recommend going to Cairo.
I ALMOST FORGOT TO POST THIS PIC:
