Catfish & almost stepped on this...

I went fishing near Climbing Hill tonight & hooked a cat on a chunk of skipjack (mooneye). I was reeling it in & almost stepped on this shed. That's a size 11.5 boot print in the mud next to it. I found an antler w/ 1/2 of the skull cap here about 15 years ago. Low water is exposing all kinds of stuff.

My friend's fish antlers he found was a 6x6 buck and the antlers were in a swamp underneath the water with 1 time sticking out. The entire rack is black.

How long do you all suppose that could have been there? Any reason that couldn't be several years old?

Good question. It could be last years or 5-10 years old. In that mud and water it can be preserved. If you had the match you'd know for sure.
I found a match set quite a few years ago and one side was laying in a pasture the other side was laying under the water in the crick. The shed that was in the water is still discolored.
I'd say Handcannon better play the lotto if he finds the otherside!

Thats pretty cool i bet theres alot of sheds stuck in mud and river bottoms. A guy oughtta get into scuba diving
