I just planted pink lady apple trees in newly cleared area for apple and pear orchard and was reading about how pink lady is susceptible to cedar apple rust. Does that mean I shouldn't use cedar woods chips and whats the spraying program to keep the pink ladies healthy in orchard as well as anything else outside of that gor building the soil back up from what was cleared? I was planning on adding micro clover around apple trees and Dutch white in rest of plot to help build soil and act to support pollinators

I still have lots of cedar trees in this area

Easy to manage... per your fruit tree instructions. :)

The all-spectrum fruit tree sprays are inexpensive, easy, and affective.

The one thing I have to spray separately is imidacloprid for Japanese beetles. Speaking of Japanese beetles... I never understood that one. Farm in Madison got infested every single year. Farms in other counties never seen one.

Are you already seeing them this year? In Kansas I don't see around my orchards but see them in town around water

Rust, blight & really most other fungal issues: Dormant oil spray & copper in late winter, early spring. Covers tons of disease, insect, etc.

Myclobutinul & captan for growing season rust - label will tell u when - usually 2 sprayings.

Streptomycin sulfate for fire blight during season if above dormant with copper didn’t get it.

Thanks for spray info,if mine gets worse I will use it,I have tried to only plant resistant trees but have found that some nurseries must have got variety wrong.
