Cedar Rapids area HUSH meat lockers

Cornfed

Bowhunting Addict
Is anyone familiar with the following meat lockers.... Coggon, Moores (Walker), Ruzicka's (Solon) and Tiffin locker. I am hoping to find a locker within reasonable driving distance from Cedar Rapids for donation of antlerless deer for the HUSH program. I am really hoping to not have to drive 50 miles round trip to donate a deer /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

Can a guy drop off deer at any of these lockers after normal business hours? I really appreciate being able to call Terry at Edgewood Locker after business hours to drop off deer for processing.... but I will not be doing any early season hunting up north. Hoping to find something local...

Ruzicka's in Solon has the after hours contact phone number right on their door (sorry, don't have it handy). I've called it a couple of times. There was one time I had to wait until the next morning to deliver, but other than that, I have found Ruzicka's VERY easy to work with.

I have a back up list of people (from work, etc) who want deer. You might be surprised who wants one if you ask around.

i have also had numerous experiences with them! great to work with.

Was just in Ruzikas yesterday to get more Lansjagers. Due to my drought in killing local deer I haven't dropped one off there in a couple of years. I saw their after hours number on the door and I asked how late "after hours" was, 8-9 oclock is what she said, but I bet it is later than that when they get going.

Oh yeah, 85 dollars for skinning, cutting and wraping. Specialty meats are more. She said those will be higher this year becasue the cost of spices etc have gone up.
