Chocolate Lab

From the dog training books I've read, they want the dog's name to be mono-syllabic to avoid confusing him (and it's easier to shout when trying to control them

). If you think about it, most people shorten a long name when calling them anyway. I'd stay away from any name that might be confused (sounds close) with a word you hope to use in training.

The book I'm reading now is about a Black Lab named Remington (that doesn't look right?? You know the gun.) but that would be way to long for a dog name if you ask me.

Just thought I would share my two choc labs with you all. Chip & Amara

My last chocolate was named Drake. MHNUNTER - I'm hoping that our pup will end up the same color as your's on the bottom. That is the same color that Drake was, and he was beautiful! Drake weighed about 110 pounds, solid! This pup's parents are both about 80 pounds, so hopefully he will be a bit smaller!

Thank you for sharing!

I have a chocolate lab that has to weigh at least 125 pounds. This dog is huge. I love this dog. Had it since i was little. He has artheritis (spelling) But that doesnt stop him from going duck hunting and goose hunting.
