I'm sure I missed a discussion on this, but do any of you collect seed in the fall from your own stands of NWSG to plant? If so, any tricks I need to know for next year? Thanks
I picked some by hand a few years ago. Very time consuming. Frost seeded it by hand and had pretty good luck. I know the local conservation uses an old combine with a bean head to harvest large areas and then run it through a cleaner of some sort. We seeded 160 acres a couple years ago and started to run short at the end, they gave me some of their harvested seed to fininsh up with and it did very well. Also saved me a bunch of money.
