Cover, Chicory frost seeding question

First week of March I have been planning to frost seed some clover. My question is can I add some chicory to the mix and expect similar frost seeding results. Is the first week of March good timing?

Yes...and yes!! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Frost seeding chicory works fairly decent and March is perfect timing to frost seed!

Git er done! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Mike, This is one I frost seed last March. Loaded with deer all fall and winter! I think I will add a little more chicory this year.

The good news is I started keeping track. The bad news is i can't find the record book. I will though and will let you know. I do know it is just shy 1 acre and I planted as an acre.

Well, I just frost seeded a mix of alice and ladino yesterday in SE IA. The ground was REALLY sloppy but two fields were dry enough that I could walk on and not leave imprints. Hopefully it orks as all fields are established..just going to thicken up. I put 20 lbs on 2.5 acres and another 5 lbs on 3/4 acre. If it stays sloppy for a couple days is that ok if it doesn't freeze at night or thaw during the day? I am sure we will get more freezing and thaw but does it have to be perfect conditions?
