crossbow for a handicapp

I wanted to know if anyone knows anything about using a crossbow for a handicap. see i was hurt pretty bad in a car accident and I know I won't be able to get a bow back by october. I also know there's no way your keeping me out of the woods. I really would like to be able to hunt come oct. 1st and w/ my injuries I only see using a crossbow as my option for bow season. so if anyone has any info on the subject it would be appreciated. Thanks TallTines

You need to call the DNR office in Des Moines and they will send you an application for a permit to use a crossbow. You must take it to a doctor and have them state your disabilities that effect your upper extremities. If you qualify the DNR will send a permit that is good as long as symptoms exist.
