Cuddelink questions

I'm leaning towards investing in the cuddelink L series cameras and I have a few questions that I haven't been able to find answers to. I live on the property and I would like to run 5-7 cams with a cell home unit at the house. I would pull that card most of the time and maybe activate the cell option during the season. I understand there is no immediate cell delivery, which is fine. Questions are:
-How is the low-glo flash and picture quality compared to tactacams or non-cell cameras? The sample pics don't really look all that awesome.
-Do they deliver full HD pics to the home camera or do you get degraded pics like tactacams and the HD pics are on the individual camera cards? This is assuming that you are pulling the home camera card to check all the cameras.
-Same question, but for cell use. IF all the pics sent to the home unit are HD, do they stay HD if you have them sent to your phone via cellular?

-I've been running a tactacam on their little solar panel for 2 years with no batteries in the camera, zero issues. Will Cudde's small solar panel run an L series camera without batteries (in -0 degree temps) if it has decent sun exposure? The big panels aren't THAT much more expensive but the small panels are what is in most of the bundle kits.

-Can you run rechargable D cell batteries in the camera and if so will they be re-charged by the solar panel? Assuming they would have to be NiMh batteries like the panel batteries, but it seems like a great option if it works.
Thanks for any info, I don't know anyone who uses them.

Pic quality is excellent IMO. Ownership changed I think, 6-7 years ago and products better imo. I run L’s & the pic quality way better than J.
If want the hd pics- need get from that specific camera.
Cell pics are dialed down for quality but just fine IMO.
Big solar panels if iffy sun. Worth it IMO. Get steel wrapped cord so critters don’t chew em. Use regular panels for full sun.
Regular batteries in L cam. Not rechargeable. The solar panels have built in rechargeables. As long as solar doesn’t get tipped down or break a cord- pretty solid.

Skip, how do the L's do on taking pics as far as missing pics? I have the original g series and they miss 2/3's of what non cell cams take, sitting on the same post, set at 1 minute. I really like the concept but missed pics is an issue.

Just curious why the cell if using at home? Could set home unit next to computer and check daily with morning coffee.

I run about 30 L cams. Excellent system imo.

Boyd (Buck Hollow) and myself (Midwest Habitat Company) are both dealers. Either one treat ya right.

So the cell pics are low res, ok are the pics on the home cell card full resolution? Meaning manually checking the SD card in the home unit?

'83, I don't really need the cell factor but it is nice if you are bored at work or if I'm hunting out of town for a few days and wondering if big boy has finally shown up. The non-camera cell home is a bit cheaper than a regular camera and I can mount it to the porch post and check it in my undies 4 times a day if I want. But cuddes cell plan is also pretty cheap to activate it for just Nov and Dec.
Also curious about the missed picture thing bwese mentioned, that would be a no go. I run my cell cams on 1 pic, send twice a day, on the theory that they can't take pics while sending them, but I don't know if that's true.

The reason I care about the resolution of the pictures on the home card is that I really like to keep a year to year inventory of buck pictures to compare growth and patterns and I don't like saving the low res pictures. I hate pulling the cards out of tacticams at the end of the year and wading through 7000 pictures (that I have already seen) just to save the quality pictures I want to save. Not fun, would be much better to save them in HD the first time as I go through the season.

I do not feel like I am missing pics with L cams. I heard that was an issue with older series.

The resolution on home cam is compressed but still pretty good. The Full HD pics are only on card of actual camera. I'll post pic examples as they come thru system (not HD from actual card)

I am perfectly happy with the quality of pics that I am sent and have not pulled a full high-rez picture off a camera in years.
I run the bigger Solars on mine and have some cameras that I haven't touched in a couple years - they just keep going.

I went back and really looked at my HD tactacam pics and browning pics and to be honest the cudde pics are at least as good, maybe better in some ways. I think this system makes a lot of sense for my situation. Sounds like bigger panels are worth it too. Thanks for the info guys
