It is going to be a good fall!
It looks like Congress will end it … I checked the fall times, & they align pretty well for hunters. Later time for sunrise to sleep in, & a 5:35 sunset into December.

The working man might get out more often after work etc…

Your thoughts ?

Bus drivers too … splitting the difference might have been the best . Oh well, everyone will adjust .
 
Not a fan of Daylight Savings at all, especially for the early risers - better matches arcadian rhythms. Daylight at 9 PM pushes me to stay up later. I was hoping they would make Standard Time permanent.

But at the end of the day, the clock is just a number so quit changing it every 6 months should be the goal.

Good point on evening hunts though.
 
I'm probably in the minority but I'd prefer things stay as they are. I appreciate the evening hunts in the early season but once rut hunting starts I really like getting an early start and being back in at dark around regular dinner time. Especially if I'm at home to eat with the Family.

As a duck hunter it will also suck. Will still have to be out early for a spot. I'm over the midnight spot races but it will still be an extra hour before shooting time.

After living with it for 53 years I really don't get what the big deal is with the current system. Bunch of softies.....

Has more to do with folks going about their lives. Like above example, if construction crew can't start till 9 then by the time they are done the bank is closed....

I hate changing clocks so Ill be happy when its one but I have no idea what the right starting point is/was.

Yep, I follow. My comment was in terms of his response on multiple day hunts.

If sunset is 7 PM, sunrise is 7 AM - Have 12 HR gap.
If sunset is 6 PM, sunrise is 6 AM - Have a 12 HR gap.

Nature doesn't care or know about the numbers we assign to it.. :)

Yup- I work 7 am to 6 pm daily… hard to get to the bank and any other things that close at 5. Clocks won’t “matter”- but staying dark that late doesn’t scream fun for me
 
I know some guys won't like it but being a high school teacher it would benefit me greatly. I pretty much only can hunt evenings during the rut and when the clocks fall back and it's getting dark at 5 by the time I can drive to my spot, get changed, hang my stand etc, it's like an hour of hunting. It's better than nothing but leaving it DST will give me the extra h hour or so in the evenings. So I hope it passes. That being said I'm sorry for the dudes that will have their morning hunts effected.

I don’t care either way. I typically go to bed by 8:30 and I’m up by 5:00. I have aluminum foil and blackout curtains over my bedroom windows so it’s always dark in there. Have to use my phone to go to the bathroom it’s so dark.
