Decoy distance from blind?

This is my first year archery hunting for turkey. As I was getting my gear ready for my first hunt tomorrow morning I got to thinking what was the ideal distance between your decoy and your blind. Do you want the deke at your most comfortable shooting range or do you want to bring the deke in closer to the blind hoping to draw him even closer. I guess the reason I ask is because #1 I've obviously never done this before but secondly I didn't know if there were any risks of spooking the bird with the deke too close to the blind. I'm most comfortable at 20 yards and wouldn't take a shot past that. Should I leave the deke at 20 or bring him in closer? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance - Willie

I usually set my decoys up 8-10 steps from the blind. The turkey's wont see you if you have the right windows closed. I have had a tom brush against the side of my blind once while strutting. You can even put the blind up in the middle of a field and they wont see it as long as you keep your movement to a minimu, and try to keep as many windows closed as possible. Good Luck!
