I was wondering what kind of calls you guys used. I just have some shed antlers i use, and a adult buck grunt call. What sents do you think work the best during the rut also?

A rattling bag and a grunt tube is all I use.

I have tried that doe can thing but it has not worked to date and just ends up making a god awful sound all the time in my fanny pack when I am walking around the woods.

I use big sheds for rattling. You want a hollow sound when you bang them. I use a combo snort wheeze grunter, and (only) during the rut, I use the can call. My best results have always been the rattling! As far as scent, I like post rut buck synthetics. The scent won't break down like urine does. Works nice with a mock scrape.....

I use a rattle bag(Homemade) and the past few years, I've used a Lohman's combo call. This year I'm gonna try the Primos rubber neck call. It sounds pretty good to my ears. I also use golden estrus or blue moon scent.

I use rattling antlers, grunt tube, and primos estrous doe bleat can. All of these have been very effective at different times for me. I usually rattle when things are slow to try to bring something in close enough for the can and grunt tube to be effective. The "true-talker" is a great choice for a grunt tube. Two years ago I called in a very nice 8 pointer to 20 yards usuing only the Primos Can. This was on December 7th. The can tends to be more effective at the onset and tail end of the rut, because it is slim pickins on does for the bucks to breed.
