I had read this proposal before but this was in today's Des Moines Register

Did they flip-flop the nutritional data? I thought the fat content was reversed.

dito on the data pharmer. By the time they get this meat to the inmates it will cost them as much as beef.

Okay, nutritional experts . . . I have a question. The article shows that with equal portions of meat, the deer has less calories than beef, but has a higher fat content. It seems to me that the deer should have a much lower fat content. Is the article inaccurate, or am I missing something ?

Gotta be inacurate never have a pile of fat left on my plate after eating a big ole deer steak.

But why would us hunters "BUY" a extra tag to give the meat to a locker? If the heard needs thining and the inmates need feeding give the tags. And if anybody is going to do this could I have the loins before they grind those up? Besides do they deserve this delicious beast!?
