deer tracking device

To Flugge's point if these things were to become popular, I would figure people had more money then brains given the price if it did, tracking regs would have to be changed in Iowa. As they are now I would think you could simply say "what blood? I'm tracking him with my little receiver here."

How would you be able to go onto others properties would be the question. If there is no blood, you cant track it without permission. So even if someone said no, and you could tell it was there, could you? It would open a lot of doors and questions, while could be great, I think it leads to many more downfalls

I thought the regs read "unarmed pursuit of wounded game". Not sure there is mention of blood (blood trail) in them. Granted, I've always wanted to have a blood trail to point to if I encountered someone on another property as I tracked wounded game.

The price would have to be drastically reduced for me to consider using the system.

Maybe I'm just too old school but when I think about this product, I envision people like those who hunt the Tecomate Ranch (David Morris-puke) using this. I definitely see the Drurys, Bone Collector idiots and all the other TV Celebs endorsing it next year (provided its not outlawed).

To each their own I guess. I'll never use it, regardless of the price.

Overall I would say that I am opposed to this device. Sure people will most likely buy it due to being the "new" item out there. However, I believe strongly that the tracking of an animal is a large portion of a hunt. Learning those skills, and going out with family/friends to find your animal is all part of the fun that is hunting. Takes a lot of fun/pride out of the hunt using this device IMO.

Sad to say hunting is becoming like a competition. Its not about being in the great outdoors, its about who has the best bow and equipment. I don't think the drurys would use it, however I could see some moron using it on a game farm and bragging about it.

Back quite a few years ago, (80s), there was a tracker with a string that you attached right behind your broadhead. The low tech version of this.
