Diesel on a Scrape

Well I finally got some new pictures of Diesel. How old do you think this deer is? The landowner tells me there has been a huge buck in his back yard the last couple of years that has had anywhere from 14-16 points. My question is what is the possibility that Diesel is the same buck? He is by far the biggest buck I have gotten on this property and he has the most points. I am just not sure he is old enough to be the same buck.

Almost opening day and he's showing up at 2:30 AM. Yep...he's been through a couple of hunting seasons :D

Mature buck...look at the way the neck comes into the briskit...can't tell where it meets. Tall tale sign for me of a mature buck.

What a deceiving profile from the side....when he lifts his head he looks like a totally different deer. What a monster!

Also remember that the bucks are at their biggest body size/heaviest weight around the first of October.

That's a nice buck fo sho! I would not hesitate on him.

Now whether he is the one the landowner speaks of or not is a real crapshoot if you ask me. Through the years I have found that a farmers version of a "big buck" can be anywhere from a modest basket racked 8 pointer to a true giant that would be in the 200" class.

So that could be the 14-16 pointer OR there may be one bigger yet, which would be pretty awesome. I would trust my trail cam pics more than the landowner description.

when i first started going through the pictures i didnt think it was Diesel because he looked to small so i was going to name him Junior but once I got to that last picture I knew it was him.
