My question is,...How is this position filled?

Is this an appointed position, elected, applied for, what?

Does he receive money from special interest groups?

I would like to think that our DNR director would be working for the best interest of Iowa hunters and the proper management of our natural resources.

That is an excellent question Ghost! I kind of assumed the the Director would be hired/appointed by the Governor but I really don't know.
It certainly stinks that we have to fight off potential changes that the IDNR Director is pursuing, putting his own personal agenda ahead of that of the average sportsmen.

Most likely will be looking for job with Vilsack going to be next president
